IH 3PH WILL NOT DROP DOWN

Hello,
I have a IH 1486 ,
The 3PH will not drop down. It was sitting about 1 month. I started it up the 3 PH lifted up but will not go back down.
I have checked to make sure the lever was pushing the lever correctly and it is.

Any one have a clue on what I might can check.

Thanks
Ron

I've got a smaller, older IH that has a little valve you move to make the arms stay up or lower slow. Mine is just below the front of the seat on the left side.

we have a 1066 the levers down in trans jumped out of place. part of the torsion system my younger brother figured out what was wrong with the 10. went thur the pto hole

OK,, I will look to see if Mine has that.

Once the tractor is off, the 3PTH will will slowly drift down, But once I start the tractor it lift back up. I can move the hand lever back and forth and it does not move at all..

Thanks For your help

The 3 pt has a torque lever just behind the top link plate. Remove the plate, you can feel or see a lever from the rockshaft plate. It should be behind the lever coming from the lower shaft at the bottom of the mainframe. I put a washer on the Rh outside of the lower lever that will keep the upper lever in place. Should correct the situation.

Move the draft lever to the middle. If you have it all the way in one direction or the other, can't remember which, the 3pt will go all the way up and will not come down no matter what position the lever is in.

Hey Ron sorry so long getting back to you have been cutting beans. The drop check valva is behind a plate on the front of the seat tower if I remember correctly. It may be stuck there is a big locknut on it loosen that and take the valve out then take it apart there is a spring inside it with a check ball below it. If that doesnt work ask further.
