Block heater for 484

Michael, a tank heater is the easiest to install.
There is a plug at the front of the water manifold at the right front of the engine and there is a drain plug in the side of the block just above the starter.
So buy a recirculating tank heater some heater hose, some pipe nipples, connect tank heater outlet to water manifold and inlet to drain plug by starter. Fabricate the mounting bracket so the top of the tank heater is below the drain plug.
Route the heater hose from the water manifold around behind the fan and alternator and to the outlet of the tank heater.
I tried to find a picture on the Internet of a 484 with tank heater but the best I could find was a 574. Notice tank heater is that silver cylinder mounted against front bolster. We have ours mounted between injection pump and starter.

I have one of these heaters laying in the barn still in the box. Ill go look for these plugs, there is 2 pluggs on the manifold, I'll have to look for the one by the starter.

Today I mounted the tank heater on it like the pic jim put up. I couldnt mount the heater where they have it because I have a fuel filter there. The 3cyl doesnt have enough room above the starter for it so I mounted it on the front of the engine on the right side.
