Farmall M Clutch Pressure Plate Adjustment

Can I have some assistance please. I am rebuilding an M pressure plate and my manual does not give the "as new" measurements. My H manual gives the following: - Front of pressure Plate to front of backplate 27/32", and the front of pressure plate to to the highest point of the actuating fingers as 2-5/32". Those are the settings I've used in the past for the H and they work just fine.
My question is this: - Is the M the same? and if not can someone please supply me with the correct measurements. Thank you have a nice day MTF

I am sure they are different. Uniform finger height is most important. Put them at near the midpoint of their adjuster travel, and equal distance. Throwout and freeplay adjustment will compensate. JimN

I do not. I have replaces a couple of hundred clutches. in a wide variety of units. They often do not even have adjustment for the finger height. There ids a spec in the manual.(I would visit a dealer and photocoppy the page.) It is critical to have them equal. but not to a precice specifik height. JimN

Thanks again for that Jim. Like you I have done many clutches over the years, but with this one I have been to a lot of trouble pressure testing the springs and using crack detector on the plates etc, that I thought it would be nice to have it "right". As I say thanks a million Mike
