300 Utility Wiring Diagram/12 volt conversion

I need a wiring diagram for a 300 gas utility. Also would a Delco 101S alternator work under with a modification to the holding bracket. Is there a place that sells a 12 volt conversion kit for this specific tractor. I looked at the Y/T one for an H. Would that fit the 300 Utility. Thanking you in advance.
 
A hitachi alternator from a Nissan Pu (about 1986)is a fifty or 60 amp unit and is similar in hookup to the SI, but physically smaller. Torning the original bracket upside down, using some ready rod (all thread) and washer shims it is possible to easily make it fit. The SI does fit, but not with much adjustme nt, and with some frustration. In the archives there are several setups for wiring. I recommend a 50 amp fuse link in the wire comming from the amp gauge going to the starter relay to avoid letting the smoke out of the system. JimN

In a earlier post you mentioned an older Chrysler set up that worked well with old tractors. Do you remember which it is.

I do not remember discussing chrysler alternators, they were mostly skinny front to back and rather large in diameter. Just the opposite of what is needed. %0s vintage chrysler generators are available that have a powersteering pump shaft driven on their tail end. My brother's H has one, and it drives the torque motor really well. Mitsubishi, Nippondenso, and other makes are small. JimN
 
Dell - The first generation Chrysler alternator (grounded field, mechanical regulator) makes a great alternator conversion. It's simpler to wire than a Delco. And it's bulletproof as any alternator made. Only downside is its rather large size. (Incidentally my first ever alternator conversion - done ~35 years ago - used an alt salvaged from a '62 Dodge Dart. It's STILL working today...)

The 2nd generation Chrysler (isolated field, external electronic regulator) works well too. Only difference from the first generation Chrysler is the wiring is a bit more complex.
