Farmall 300 - seems to be stuck in neutral, no go

My old Farmall 300 will not move though I plowed the drive way two days ago and everything was working fine. It has been below zero here in the midwest and it took me about an hour to get the TA to warm up and to get it working. Yet, after two hours and though I can put it in gear it will not move. I replaced the clutch about two years ago. Anyone have an idea on what might be going on. Thanks for any help.
 
Did you check the transmision ,the water will biuld up in there and when it gets cold it freezes and you cant move the tractor with the ice in there. Try to remove the plug in the bottom, you might have to wait until it gets warm to drian it.
 
If you can put it in all gears, and when the clutch is let out, nothing happens, the clutch is probably out. Secondary possibilitys would include: ta clutch and ramp and roller are both out, Splines on clutch shaft are torn off, Clutch hub damper springs are toast. There are ways to see inside, but not fix anything.
Also a major failure of the final drive (ring/pinion, or bull gears) will also give this symptom. Look into the trans to see motion through the fill hole. Good luck, JimN
 

If it was frozen water in the transmission or rear end, the tractor would stall when you put it in gear and let out the clutch... I would suspect that the description of the problem in that case to be "tractor dies when I let out the clutch," not "no go in any gear."

My nose is telling me that this has something to do with the "took me about an hour to get the TA to warm up and to get it working."

The TA doesn't need to "warm up" in any temperature. It either works, or it's broken.

What I'd like to hear is how the TA was behaving when it was "cold." My suspicion is that it was on its way out, and picked now to completely crap the bed.
