TA delete how does it affect value

The primary dollar value is the overall condition of the tractor.

The TA value depends on whether you think you need it or not.

Personally, if I had two tractors setting in front of me in the same condition for the same money, I would take the one without the TA.

Although many on this forum will tell you TA will last forever with proper care they have reputation (deserved or not) of being a money pit.

I didn't realize how nice a TA was until I got my SMTA and got it working. Considered going to a TA delete when Mine wasn't working right but decided to overhaul it. Glad I did, really a handy option.

I have a Farmall 504 Diesel and I rebuilt the TA. If it went out and I could not afford to rebuild it right, I would sell the tractor. Having 10 forward + 2 reverse, versus 5+1 on a tractor with a loader is not the same. My 504 has the option codes S-X-Y. one of these is high speed 1st and Reverse. At times 1st and R in TA makes a world of difference. Same for blading or mowing, hit a hard spot and just pull back on the TA. My next tractor will be a 6 cylinder IH with TA or a HYDRO.

I feel the TA delete is a negative. They just need proper adjustments and proper operation.

Okay, they don't last "forever" literally, but they last a whole lot longer when used properly than when abused.

On a collector tractor, FACTORY TA delete can actually add to its value due to rarity. But, it has to be factory.

For a field tractor, the lack of a TA usually detracts from its value.
