I bought n tread axle and trasmission. I was wondering what it weighed. I was wondering what it weighed to determine what trailer to take.
thanks,
joe

Im not certain but Id say the transmission and rearend are probobly around 1500 pounds, thats likely a little overkill, but its better to be on the safe side.

you're right on the money. Its by far the heaviset parts of the tractor.

try and find a show with one of those big 'teeter-totters' and put an F-20 on it. you'll be surprised to find out how far back the balance point is :?

Ya Ive got my Reuglar frame in the shop still, front ends sitting on the wheel and the back end is held up by two tall jacks under the frame rails literally right in front of the transmission. Had to put jacks under the drop housings for safety cause every time i went to tighten the axle shaft nuts it would lift the front end off the ground. Like you said the fulcrum point is long ways back on these old tractors.
