nuber 6 mccormick horse drawn mower

There are probably several people here. But you need to be more specific if you want to get questions answered.
 
Thanks for getting back with me. I have been away from the farm to long. I am not sure of the proper terminology of some of the parts. I need to know where i can get parts for this mower. Pitman arm, grass board, cutter bar, cutters, pitman straps,cutter guides and seat f9or now. I understand that it should be painted red with part of it cream or off white. The cutter bar blue. I was able to find a reprint of the mower on ebay, but i have not recieved it yet. This is just some of the questions. I am sure the longer i work on it thier will be more questions i will have to ask. Thanks again. Bill
 
I have some NOS mower parts for older IH mowers. I think some of them may be for horse drawn mowers. When you get your manual and know part numbers, you can E mail me and I'll let you know if I have anything you can use. I have a mower parts catalog, but the only horse drawn mower in there is a No. 9.
 
You may have to make the wooden parts (pitman, grass board) although someone (like Haas) may have NOS stashed away. Some people have made reproduction grass boards or I can point you to an online pattern. Length of a pitman is critical. If you need to make one, I think I have one I can get a measurement off. Most parts on the cutter bar are the same or at least interchangeable with mowers from a wide range of models and years so should be fairly easy to find from several sources.

Color scheme changed some over years, so if you are really particular you can paint to a specific year. I have a color image from an old brochure or ad that I can email to you. All years would be similar.
