Ihave a pair of these thry work ok not great but ok work fine using a chain for center link to lift things like wood splitter or sprayer not so good w/ bale spear . was always going to try to build a quick hitch adapter I thionk that might work better but just never got around to it.they work

There are two sizes of prong. Those that fit SC-200 and other Super C sized tractors, and X00 series and bigger. Be sure to get the size appropriate. There is about 1/2" difference between height, and are interchangable with shims. The difficulty with conversions is that the FH is ridgedly spaced center to center, and 3Pt are not. 3Pt require movement to allow the ball socket to be placed over the pins. A top link is also needed to provide the third link.
This must tie into the structure of the tractor frame in a very strong connection. There is a rnge of side to side spacings on 3Pt implements. Thus width adjustability is important, and limited with the conversion prongs.
I believe in the superiority of the true FH system. It just got over run by licensing issues, and proprietary IH attitudes. Backing into an implement and driving away is a great feeling, and much less dangerous than working on foot to attach a 3Pt. The pivot pins in the system could have been more well bushed and resistant to wear. The flippers could have been made a bit better for more automatic closing into the latch notches, and some implements have the tendency to fall over making backup hitching difficult until a concrete block or other device is used to support the implement on one side. Maybe i should start maken new ones again. I made up about two dozen set of adjustable ones that went from cat 1 to cat 2 . They were strong enough that you could pull a 4 bottom 16 in plow with never tryed them on a 5 bottom .

Good idea, If there were a hinge on one of them just where it came out of the socket, it would allow far easier use. Jim

Hello ALL: I have 4 pictures of one 2point to 3point adapter my brother gave me shortly before he passed away 1 year ago. This one can be adapted to different 3p widths fairly easy. The top link bracket can be unbolted and modified if needed.. etc. I have another that is solid and was built to cary a big tank for a sprayer. No adjusting without a big torch.
Please click on any picture to enlarge (should go to full screen) to see details. It's cloudy and dark today so pictures are dim also... Copy pictures if needed since I may delete or re-arange blog soon. agpilot feb7-09

All you have to do is hook a cat. 3pt. quick hitch to the F. H. prongs and add a top link to the rockshaft and you are good to go. I would not even think of using a standard 3pt. without a quickhitch. I can hook 3pt. impl. with a quick hitch as fast as I can hook fast hitch impl. Armand
