M 12 volt chargeing problem

I have an m converted to 12 volt single wire alternator that seems to not want to charge. I occasionally had trouble with it chargeing in the past and normally if I would high rev the motor it seemed that it would "kick in" and then be fine. I rev"d it several times today it can"t get it to start chargeing. Is there some other way to get it to charge or do I have to take it off and have someone test it. Or is the alternator no longer usable.
Thank you,

The problem with some one wire alternators is they require a higher RPM to excite which a smaller pulley may help cure and insure the belt is good n tight. Thats one reason I prefer a good old tried n true n inexpensive 3 wire set up.

My SuperA had a one wire setup like yours and I had even taken it off and had a smaller pulley put on it to excite it without having to rev the motor. I still had to rev it so I decided to go to the three wire. I have never regrated it.

You might want to consider having the diode trio changed and going with what they call a three wire.

Im no expert on this but lots of good people on here helped me out.

I've done 2 conversions to alternator with single wires. I found out that there is a low speed cut in that goes in the alternator. Also put on a smaller pulley. My M doesn't have it, got to rev it almost wide open to excite it. The H on the other hand, has the cut in, it excites at just above low idle. Works nice!
