Farmall 140 Problems/Hyraulics????

My farmall 140 has some major hyraulic problems(so i think). The front culivator hyraulics won"t go up or down. The lever will only move 1/16 of an inch if that. The back hyraulics works just fine. I already disconneted the lever and just tried to move the linkage, no luck. Do yall think it is in the hyraulic block too or what? Has anybody tore these down before, what should i look for? Also what does a GOOD useable hyraulic block is worth? Any info/help on these things? Thanks in advance

Are you saying that the control levers won't move, OR, are you saying that the lift arms won't move when you move the control levers?

If the control levers won't move they're probably just rusted up from lack of use.

Rudi's Cub Manual server linked in at farmallcub dot com has the service manual for both Cub and Super A/C/100/130/140 touch controls. You can rebuild it for a lot less than a replacement block will cost.

NCFarmer: The control levers on these can freeze with rust. I find it's best to remove the lever base about every ten years, dismantle the lever assembly, clean in up, lubricate with graphite and reassemble.

If the problem is in the touch control unit itself, you can get a kit from CaseIH complete with directions for installing, for around $120. Nothing else will cure it if the unit is the problem. You may buy another unit and still have to buy the kit.

The belly hydraulic linkage wouldn't budge on one of my 140's last year because it was rusted in places. I took it all apart, wire brushed, primed, painted, and greased it as needed. It now works great once again.
