Jacking up Farmall A

I wish to jack up the front axle to repack or replace the wheel bearings, remove the tubes and tires, and sandblast and repaint the rims.
Where is the best place to jack and have my wood cribbing support the tractor for the many weeks that I will probably take for all of this?
I figure I can use the front (fattest, belled out area) of the clutch housing for sure. Does that sound best?
I am reluctant to use just the casting under the middle of the axle tube.

Why wouldn't you just jack under the front axle tube, and support the tube near each end while the rims are off?

Jack it up under the front axle tube and support it with jack stands, it will support the weight, after all it does it while the tires are on, right?
