I'm working on a td 340 track dozer diesel and wanted to what type of oil to use to replace it and how much is needed. I was told 30w motor oil. I used this around clay and now is won't stay moving straight it keeps going around in circles. I was theres clay hanging it up somewhere. Is there anywhere that has a free printable service manual or operators manual on the td 340 dozer diesel.

Will it steer both directions using the cluches only?
Will it steer both directions using the brakes only?
Are the tracks too tight?
Do you have a mud buildup between the finals and the tracks?

If it is not going straight, a track clutch is slipping. I do not know what /if there is an adjustment, but it is not going to get better until repaired/adjusted. Cleaning things may help, but will not make it right. Either track clutch should be able to kill the engine at full throttle, and this seems far from that. JimN

It wont stay straight when using the clutches. You have to get it to turn back the opposite direction to get it to stay straight. brakes arent being used at this time. It will turn both directions when using the clutch.

Might be stuck. Also correction when it turns it hard to get it to turn back or not at all to stay straight.
