I have a 340 utility with front end loader. Ibought it 2 years ago and it's been great. Then yesterday I was mowing in 3rd gear and the clutch disengaged. I stopped and shifted to second and it slowly started to move and then finally fully engaged.I checked the linkage and adjusted but no help. Now It will onlynot slip in 1st gear in all of the other gears it will take awhile before it starts moving.I was wondering if there is anything else I should check before I split the tractor and take a look at the clutch & presure plate.

Sounds like it just plan needs to be replaced if adjustments do not help. The more you try to use it as is the more likely it is that you will mess up the flywheel face and then have to have it turned if it doesn't already need it

A lever on the left side of the operators platform (good sized) shifts a clutch activate reduction gearset. This allows 10 forward, 2 reverse gears. Use the search for box to access far more info. A disconnected and mis adjusted TA (possibly with its lever removed) can cause the very symptoms you describe. JimN
