I need some help with my Cub Lowboy please. I believe it to be a 1965 model. How would I get more power out of it? It has a belly mower also. I believe it to be a Cub 22 belly mower. Where would I find belts for it? Where would I find blades for it? I posted some pictures of it in the tractor photos. Thanks

Google AgriSupply. They have a lot of belts and blades. David..............

adding to what Screwstick reccomends, with a tachometer, adjust governer for 1800rpm at fullload and no load 2000.Do not exceed these settings for extra power. If you are not happy with the power when properly tuned, swap for an A or super A.The A can wear the easier to find parts from bigger brothers of the letter series and make power far behond what the cubs can. mowers have been sold for cubs that are to large. That's my opinions, others may differ.

I have had great luck with cutting the heads to ad compression and torque.

The 185 cubs are rated at something like 16 hp compared to your 9.8 hp. The motors are really the same C-60 other then the pistons have a differnt part #. I have been told they are higher compression. This is what i was told the differance was on the cub website.

I also turned up the governor speed to what was listed above.

I have on "mine" cut .060 off the head and it runs great, you can fell the differance.

My dad cut .100 off his and it runs great also, clearance isn"t a issue tons of room.

We havn"t run into heating issues or fuel issues, this will be the third trouble free year for mine and second year for dads.

We live in Michigan so snow is a issue and this is ware we really see the added torque when plowing.

In the spring i disc sevral gardens whith the tractor as well as push dirt with it and i have to say that the head cut was a positive improvement .

Best rotary mower for a Cub is the Woods 42. Anything larger, like the Woods 59 or the IH/Danco C3 60", is an invitation to disappointment...especially the IH/Danco mower, because it pulls a lot harder than even the Woods 59. The Mott Hammerknife flail mower is the best choice for strictly lawn cutting, IMHO.

You'd be amazed what a baler/power unit governor (2000-2200 rpm) and some increased compression will do for your satisfaction levels with your Cub.
