Farmall H and M belt pulley attachment

Hello. I was wondering if you can use a belt pulley attachment that was on an H and use in on a M. Did they have the same part number?. Also what is the diffence between a 4 and 8 hole attachment. I have seen both. Are they both correct? Used different years? THANKS ALL.

the actually pulleys are interchangable from h, m, 300, 400 etc does not matter if they are the 4 or 8 hole patterns they are also interchangeable, the 4 bolt pullys were on early h's and m's to be 'correct'

The right angle drive units are not interchangable (though they look identical from 20 feet away). As Andrew pointed out, the pulleys are. JimN
