How to remove PTO on H

I am trying to remove the PTO on my H farmall and I am having no succcess. I removed all the bolts and pryed on the plate and it does not come out. What am I doing wrong? If it matters it is a 1940 model so it does not have the housing outside of the rearend just a plate that bolts to the rearend.

Unless there is something seriously wrong inside, the whole assembly should just pull out. Probably just stuck with the gasket. Are you positive all of the bolts are out?

I can move it a bit and so I know the gasket seal is broken. I know in the picture the bolts are in but that is just to keep the rain out while I am trying to figure out the problem!

It should just come out...

Try wedging screwdrivers all the way around to pry as evenly as possible on it... no warranty from me if it breaks, though.

From the diagram shown, the only thing I can see is a possible interaction with the internal lever hitting the tractor housing, can you move the control? It looks in the pictures you posted like it is straight up and down, not sideways like a push pull would work. JimN

Actally the reason I am removing the PTO is to try and fix the engagement lever. Currently I can pull the engagemnt lever all the way out and see where a pin that goes through it is sheared off.

I will bet that the issue is that internal lever that is now not connected. It may have dropped down confounding the removal. If looking in the hole does not provide a way to turn the inner lever, It might be able to be fished up from a drain, or Pulling the top off (Sorry about that last idea) JimN
