IH mid mount mower

Did any of these have two cylinders on them? I know the 115 has one, one-way cylinder and I think the 110 is similar. How about the 1110 or 1115?

I have a 110 ballance head mower, it has a 2-way hyd. cylinder to raise and lower the bar up and down. I think that it is 2x12 2-way. I belive it needs a 2 way to bring the bar all he way down to mow flat.

Thanks Dave! I forgot they had that for the older equipment. Couldn't tell from the diagrams how many cylinders were involved and to make things more confusing...three cylinders are listed under parts. Still searching....

Don't want to speak out of turn because I am not positive of what I say, but I believed the 110 and 115 to be very similar mowers. That said, the manual on the 115 is pretty specific about the use of the lift-all system and a one-way cylinder (or two way used as a one-way). It is supposed to power up and "float" down via gravity is how I understand it. There are ways to hook it up to two way hydraulics but it needs to be altered to work like one way. I would be interested, if you have a manual, in what it says in this regard.

There is an option listed in my 1110 manual for two separate hydraulic cylinders to be used at the same time.

The extra cylinder will lift the inner shoe/slide to mow up on curbs, or to keep it from skidding through the gravel at the top of a road ditch.

My 1110 lifts the bar with a chain so a one-way or two-way cylinder can be used. Pretty much any mower with a chain (that can go slack) in the linkage can use a two-way cylinder, the loose chain provides the "float." Our 100 trailer mower is set up this way.

You can see the chain to the left in this picture of my 1110:

Thanks (as always) Steven, for your insight on this. That sheds a lot of light on what I am looking at.

No problem, I believe the 2nd ram would go where you see the spring in this picture... if anyone needs something exact I can scan/picture the manual and post it.
