5088 transmission

I just bought an IH 5088 with 4800 hr. The drawbar is like new and I hoped that it hadn't worked too hard and the transmission would last.(it had a loader before I got it) I pull 24 feet of discer and yesterday when I would stop, sometimes it wouldn't go again in any gear or range. I would try several times and then it would go. When it was going, shifting between Hi/Lo had no effect. Then it stopped pulling completely while I was going down the field.I changed 2 canister filters and a spin-on filter on the trans/hyd. It still doesn't go at all, but I thought maybe the fact that the problem was intermittent at first meant the splines were not torn out of the clutch pack. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it.

It may have a bad electronic sensor that controls the hydraulic pressure to the clutch packs. Case IH have diagnostic testers to check the module and sensors.

Ck all grounds there is a bolt under the right front of the cab. There also a plug in the wiring harness on right side at back of engine. electric connections even low batterys will stop 50 series tractors put over 10000hrs each on 4 0f them.

Well......the problem was a dead battery. I'm still living in the Case 500 days I guess. But your help was what clued me in so you've saved me a bundle. Thanks a bunch!
