removing moisture behind glass on gauge

After washing the tractor there was moisture trapped behind the glass on the temp gauge. Now the needle will stick from the small water bubbles. I tried a blow dryer. Didn't seem to work. Any old farm stricks for removing moisture?

A 100W heat lamp at a foot or so for 3 or four hours will do it. Make sure the gauge and dash do not get excessively hot. Use a tiny bead of urethane sealant around the glass when done. JimN

I know it's a little off topic, but I lost my cell phone. Found it after being out in the rain for a month. I dried it off. Took the battery and SIM card out, then put it all in a jar of rice overnight. Next day wiped it all down again, put the charge on it and it worked fine. Had some moisture in the screen areas. I put it on the dash of my truck, left it in the sun all day and now the phone is perfect. Of course I had already changed the service to my new phone, but all my address book, alarm clocks, etc are still there.

I do not think this will work for all phones. This was a Motorola, one of the more indestructible types. Maybe leave the tractor out with the gauges facing the sun? Just my two cents worth.

Ya,

Sometimes these fellers make me feel old. Groan! :>(

Years ago, before folks started parking tractors inside a shed, that was a VERY common occuance after every rain.

Just leave 'em be, work 'em and before ya know it that hard-to-read gauge is just fine. :>)
