Farmall C/o-ring

Does the O-ring go where the pen is pointing in the picture.Someone had a gasket there?No o-ring when I took it off??

Yes there is an o-ring. I took mine apart this morning as it pumped all the hydralic fluid into crankcase yesterday. I will have to look for an o-ring at NAPA tomorrow.
 
If I remember correctly all that is require is a gasket. I'm not where I can get hold of my parts manual.HTH

Sorry to say guys that there is no o-ring there only the gasket. Hydraulic oil in the crankcase means the pump shaft seal is leaking meaning the pump may have excessive wear.
 
Sorry about that I read into the question too far. I assumed he meant under the gear on the shaft not on the outer edge where the gasket sits. I apologize.
 
Here's a breakdown on the Pesco pump. Those o-rings were known for wearing grooves into the shaft and then the hydraulic oil ended up in the crankcase. There's speedi-sleeve kits available for covering the groove and and new seal. Hal

Sorry to say he is not pointing to the area under the drive gear. in order to see a o'ring there you would have to remove the gear..hhhmmmmmmm

I did not read anything where he indicated he had hydraulic oil in his crank case.

You know I don't often post on here but read the forum almost every night. Have gained a lot of knowledge about the Farmalls since finding this forum. Have also learned a few things about "experts". I don't and have never professed to be an expert on any of the Farmalls. There is one main reason I and probably others don't ever or rarely post a reply or question. That would be the ramped up know it alls that simply can't help themselves in spouting their knowledge without berating and belittling everyone else's comments. I do not begrudge anyone knowing more than I or correcting me, I do have a problem in the way it's done and the motive behind it.
