Farmall B rims

Brought this up last summer briefly but a shortage of time and difficulty in measuring pretty much ended it. Our B has what I think must be some fairly unusual rims. Darn near impossible to measure with the tire on but I made a big caliper and took accurate measurements. Measuring from the furthest outside points, which would be the actual edge of the rolled rim on the wheel, Rim "A" was 11.25 inches which, allowing for some error and deducting for the rolled rim I am going to say is a 10" rim. Tire "A" is a Firestone Field & Road 11-24 per the sidewall. Both rim and tire are in good shape. Wheel "B" measured the same way was 11 inches even...so another 10" rim. Tire "B" is a Firestone Transport 11-24.5. This tire is a retread in good condition, but the wheel is in very rough shape. I need to replace Wheel "B" but I am at a loss for a source of a new/used rim that size. Since I believe the stock size was 8" I am not sure where these rims originated. If anyone has any ideas, I would sure like to hear them. These wide tires are very desirable for pulling loaded wagons in and out of the fields and I prefer to keep them.

I've seen several good articles or references/threads to do with how the nomenclature of tire sizes has changed over the years, bu none that address any difference in how rims are sized. Just looking at the parts catalong , they list (all 24s) 5.5, 7 (standard), 8, 9, and 10 inch rims. Just hanging around here, I've most often heard an 8" rim referred to as the standard. So is that wrong and 7" is right, or is it like the changes in tire sizes on the same tire and we're talking about the same thing? Is it measured on the inside of the outer bead or the innner recess? The Operator's Manual makes reference to a "tire and rim association schedule", but I'm not sure where one would find such a thing, if it was something that came out of IH or from some tire industry association.

And folks wonder why I buy my beverage of choice in oil cans!

Have a look at the source linked below. Just watch the 10" -- they have them in 4 and 6 lug. I know nothing about them -- just googled them up.

Sometimes I wonder what you're doing when you are not solving all my problems and engaging in random acts of kindness? Much appreciate that link...I will call them tomorrow unless I am raking/baling all day. We gets rain every third day lately. Let's just say it keeps me hoppin'! Beats heck out of what I was doing two months ago!!! Thanks again!

Scotty, I noticed they had listed the 9X24 inch wheel for the A, SuperA, B, C, 100, 130 and 140. All the C's that I have seen had 36" wheels on them. Tom
