through out bearing ??

Hello I'm new to this,I talked to Dave in parts I'm think that's who he is and he told to come here.I have a 184 International red color turf tires I do not know of anything you need? The through out bearing, I bend told by dearlers said it is a bast--- tractor because the clutch presser plates and through out bearings is the only one there is you can not use the 154 or 185 models they will not fit. most all the dearlers I've talk to say they can not get it,or it is $200.00 or more can any help on this Please I'm at wits ends, Last year when I was thinking about doing this they told me at least most of them said any where between $39.00 to $100.00 I didn't think much of it till this year when I said here we go and I did not know what I was doing or getting into I guess first time for everything . Get your hands wet and go for it.I just don't like doing things for the first time.

If you have the part number, go to a bearing supply company and get it matched up. There are hundreds of T/O bearings one has got to be close enough to work (maybe with mods to the carrier). Nothing is impossible. 200 is way too much. Even taking the bearing and carrier to motion industries and having a counter person look it up is a good idea. Welcome to the forum, we try to help in any way we can. caseih.com has parts diagrams on line. JimN

Part # of the complete assembly is 117244C1. GOOGLE brings up sources as low as $158.00.

It would be interesting to see the actual bearing... does it come off of the carrier, or is it one piece? Any bearing manufacturer's name or part number on it?

If you can post any more info I have a couple of catalogs with photos and dimensions of TO bearings to see if it would match up with anything "off the shelf".

I could be way off here, but don"t cubs actually use more of a "anti-friction puck" of sorts than an actual thrust bearing? I always thought that there was merely a pad that wore away on those when they pressed the release fingers, but I could be wrong.

Many do, Several other small IH tractors came with Graphite wear ring T/O "bearings". There is also a wear ring on the tips of the fingers on the Pressure Plate. There are many of these replaced by ball style bearings. Both seem to give good service. I would choose a ball style for a Clutch I replaced. JimN

KEV again, It is pressed on a carrier , I got a hold of Erie bearing and they said maybe they could match it up he is not sure. There is a number on the carrier A-4028 I called the dealers and no matches.Tell them what it is for then they come back, we can not get it or I get click they hang up on me,Then I get mad or just sit here and have to laugh and wonder.Or it is more expencive than I want to spend. There are two diff. t/o bearings on it, ball bearing and the other is grafhite and ever one said to say away from that one ,I have never seen it but some of the other old timers have( I'm not tofar from being an old timer) and I do listen they have bin around to know,I'm still young at these tractors.I have found 154 and the 185 do interchange and some parts do interchange with the 184 not all though, like the clutch presser plate and of course the t/o bearing. I do want to Thank All Of You for helping me with this I will keep watching and letting all of you know what is going on and what I've found out. Thank You Again. ...KEV...

Kevin...

So you got the TO bearing off of the carrier, correct?

NO numbers on the bearing?

Email me, and I'll get a list of TO bearings and their dimensions back to you.

We have OEM replacement bearings available - with out the carrier. They are currently posted on eBay.

This is the same bearing originally installed on the clutch release bearing assembly part number 117244C1 by IHC.
In most cases the clutch release bearing carrier is in reusable condition.  Press the old bearing off of your old carrier and carefully press this high quality MADE IN THE U.S.A. bearing on.
