IH 1566 Overhaul

I have an IH 1566 that through a rod out of the block. I have an engine block from an IH 1066 that is in good condition. Can the block from the IH 1066 be used to overhaul the IH 1566 to the be a 436CI engine? They have the same bore, but have a 1/4" shorter stroke for the IH 1066.

Can you save the crank from the 1566? If so, yer in business.

Even if Your Crank is shot, You are still is business as you are going to looking for another Crank anyways. Just look for one for the 436. Personally, I'd turn her into a 466, but respect the power, especially with tillage.
