The total assembly is heavier by far all the way around on a M.

The drawbar itself has a different angle to it and also the pin hole is larger on the M.

M bar is 2 1/4 inches wide, 1 " thick, with a 7/8" Pin hole.

H bar is 2 1/8 " wide, 3/4 inch thick, with 3/4 inch hole.

Different length, different shape, different weight.

Gordo, if you mean the swinging drawbar on a M. They didn't start making them 1 inch thick until shortly after SM tractors were out. They were 3/4 thick before then.

Good info. I just measured the one on a Z code. But of course the bars don't have casting dates.
Even at 1 inch thick this one had a well ovaled hole in it. I drilled it oversize, welded in a 1 inch bushing, filled and ground it down, sanded and painted it so it looks like an NOS bar. Actually probably 5 times smoother and shinier than NOS!
