Guys, I have a M that didnt run for about 3 months, was having gas tank cleaned an lined. So fianally got tank back, put together, Now I beleive the engine has froze up! What is my best option to get this loose with out tear down?
Strange part the tractor was stored inside and running before taking gas tank off!

Pull the sparkplugs and pour ATF on top of the pistons and let it soak. Bump the starter easily after the ATF has soaked for a few days. It may free up. Anytime you don't start an engine frequently I would pull the plugs and spray engine oil into the cylinders then rotate the engine one full turn and spray them again. Then reinstall the plugs. We did this to military engines that were stored for long periods of time.
They had a preservative oil we used to spray the cylinders with. It may smoke for awhile when started, but will soon clear up. Hal

Put a pipe wrench on the extension in front of the belt pulley, lower front of the engine, and see if you can turn it.

Gordo

Also for storage seal off exhaust and air intake. Moisture gets into the cylinders that have valves open.

I just kinda doubt a tractor stored inside for only 3 months is stuck due to rust in the cylinders...something else is holding it from turning. Don't get rough with it, whatever you do. You can do some costly damage.

You probably checked this already, but make sure starter hasn't locked, just loosen mounting bolts and wiggle it around a bit.

Any chance the tractor has a cracked head? That would be the only reason I can think of that the engine would freeze after sitting indoors over such a short time.

As another poster said, make sure the starter isn't locked up. Just loosen the two bolts & wiggle it, if it's locked it should free up. Have had old tractors with bad starters that would do that even when they were being run everyday
