On-off and push button hooks for Farmall M

I have been hot wiring this tractor while trouble shooting various carb and spark problems. Now ready to wire correctly. I have a push-pull, on/off ignition switch, and a starter button. Each have 2 terminals. Please advise me on the proper connection for both. I also have a new selenoid relay.

Assuming a Distributor and coil (not mag).
Assuming a good charging system.
From the load side of the amp meter, run a #12 wire to one of the terminals on the Push pull switch.
From the other switch terminal run a #12 wire to the coil - terminal if positive ground, and + terminal if Negative ground (factory is Positive ground). The other small terminal goes to the distributor.
If it is a magneto (Square coil built into the top of the mag housing) you can use the two terminal switch, but it is going to be off pulled out, and run pushed in. A mag is grounded to stop the tractor. Thus the wire to the mag goes to the switch, then to ground from the other switch terminal. Never give a mag voltage. they make their own.

The push button to start switch should go from the coil side of the ignition switch (or if mag from the load side of the amp gauge)to one terminal of the push button. From the other terminal of the button, go to the starter relay (called a solenoid, it is not really, it is a relay) one small terminal will be marked S.
The big (stud and nut) terminal closest to the S terminal goes to the battery. The other big terminal goes to the starter. The relay must be grounded to work (at its mount bracket. JimN
