300 utility steering box

Is the steering box the same on a power steering 300 utility as it is on a manual steering 300 utility?

They replace one another in the location, but are not the same. 350 and 460U boxes can work as well (not all are direct replacements, but the 460U power box has strength. JimN

Does this mean I can use it if I don't mind not having power steering? As long as it will bolt up and allow me to steer the tractor I don't care if the power steering works or not.

If you can find a good manual box it will bolt on(plug the two hyd lines under the seat)but I will tell you I will never own a 300 with manual steering again my arms arnt up to that again.

The plumbing for the 300U PS has been discussed many times on this forum. Check the archives and you will find lots of ideas.
I have owned two for at least 10 years, one PS and the other manual.
504 is right on, if you have a choice always take the ps.
