convert Internatinal 404 horizontal system to a vertical

I have international 404 with the horizontal rear exhaust system.The current condition is as follows...it is missing the muffler...the exhaust pipe is rusted off 6-12" in front the left foot rest that has the muffler shield mounted to it.What kind of hoops would I have to jump through to convert to a vertical exhaust system without cutting a hole in the hood? Dose anyone have any experance doing such a thing?

What I did on a backhoe that had bottom exhaust was before exhaust pipe went to muffler I turned the exhaust 90 degrees under the tractor and that pointed the exhaust to the side. A 90 degree elbow on the outside of the frame brought the exhaust pipe up along side the tractor. Add a muffler at the top and it is done. If you have any questions post a picture of the side of your tractor and I should be able to give you some better ideas. You want the exhaust on the opposite side of the side you mount the tractor from. This is a side mount tractor, isn't it? This would be the best way to reroute the exhaust as you would not have to change exhaust manifold. This system work real good for me. Armand
