Happy Veterans Day

What is a Veteran?

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life", and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand that.

It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag,
who serves under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD,
AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

Hey, sure, I post these e mails Ive received all over the boards every Memorial and Veterans day, but I plan to contuniue to do so as I feel they are always worth repeating. THANKS VETERANS AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL

I was privelaged to suport participants in the St. Cloud MN Veterans Parade. Over 250 veta and groupa participated, and 500 or so watched. From motorcycle riders, to the DAR, it was inspiring. Jim

One would have hoped by this time in our evolution we would be giving thanks to veterans of long past wars and "conflicts" for their courage and selflessness.
But alas, it is not so.
As long as we allow the greedy and corrupt to rule the earth we will continue to honor our warriors for past and all to present engagements.
But until that time of true peace I will continue to honor.

All Gave Some,

Some Gave All.

That's what my shirt say's on it where I teach school today. It has 4 Marines carrying a man in a stretcher from one of the Pacific islands, in WW2.

Lest we forget the 11th hour, the 11th day, and the 11th month. A tribute to all veterans.

Thank you to all who served, whether in peace or in war. And thank you to the men and women who continue to serve today. And yes, I am active duty, but I am still in awe over the sacrifices made by others. It's what motivates me to continue to serve these past 17-18 years.

Happy Veteran's Day everyone!

Another big [size=18:630e3fb7f1]THANK YOU[/size:630e3fb7f1] to all, especially those who served, and still serve, in times of conflict.

Thank you John. Very appropriate.

A daughter who home schools her 3 children came today to visit veteran grandpa and to have a field trip to learn about my Navy time. It was nice as it also refreshed my memory as I talked and did a show and tell.
