deciding????

I was thinking of letting this W-6 Go,
I mean I keep it like there's not too many around,
But then I realize that you cant use it
for anything except pulling or plowing,
It dont have 3 point lift,
So I guess Im just keeping it for sentimental reason's,
Id like to have a tractor to do snow or with a loader that i could use to do things in the yard or clear driveways,
So,,,,, I guess im thinking about letting the it go and find something newer that I can use thats a little more practical than the 6,
maybe an older 1070, or a smaller kubota or???
F,K,

Yes, you can make the W6 more useful by adding hydraulics, and while there aren't many/any direct bolt-on loaders for a W6, you can make a loader fit with some basic fabrication skills.

Sentimental as in first tractor or family tractor. If it would be a family tractor I would have a hard time giving it up. But if its no use to you and sets in the back of a shed and rots to pieces its best to move it along. You can do lots of add on's like was already mentioned but will you be happy? If its your first tractor you can easily find peace with another machine that does what you need it too.

What ever your decision you CAN be just as happy with another tractor. Remember its just a tractor, not like your giving up your child or something like that.

Hi Ernie,
yea it was my 1st tractor,
but I wasnt able to do anything with it,
It reminded me of alotof older tractors with the platform on the back of them,
but i didnt think about it not having 3 point or working hydralics,
so that kinda kills it right there other than just driving it and redoing it to take to show's,
I wonmder iof i could find another NEWER TRACTOR that would work for me and do what i want to do,
I know I dont want one of those tiawan things or ones made in china,
crude, and hard to get parts for,
I was looking in tractorhouse to see if I saw anything that grabbed me,
I saw a Massey 1155 that was pretty cool and they have cabs and A/C too,and Heaters for bad weather and summer,
we got snow today and im hopeing it will stop and start to melt off tomorrow,
stay in touch Ernest ok,
thanks alot,
Kirk

You can add a little money to a newer tractor that you would be spending on a hitch and live hydraulics and such on your old one. I had 1 tractor I did like but wanted something newer. So I sold the 806 and took me the better part of the summer but I found one. An IH 686 sure its a different type of tractor size wise than the 806 was but it suits me. For now! LoL!!
