Yesterday I got the rear scraper done. Was dark when I used it, needs a bit more weight. Was impressed the tractor fired right up at -6.

used one side of the lift for the rear blade and will use the other side for the front.

Gene if you read this, what special maintenance do I need to do when using the pneuamtic lift in freezing weather??

Take the 1/8 plug out on the bottom of the assy thats near the filter with engine running pull the lever back and that will blow out the moisture. Also drain the cycl with engine running and plug out on the front side. I dont use mine in winter but thats what i would do.

Thanks Gene, I figured draining the condensation would be the thing.
My lift lifts OK but will not hold in the up position. (been doing it since I got it working last spring, really made using the mower a headache) Is this a problem in the pressure valve (the one by the filter). I'm pretty sure it's not the cylinder since it got a new seal. ???

Yes the one by the filter it needs a new rubber washer and probably a good cleaning job. You mite be able to get the old one sealing again but they usuall get hard and warped. The dealers still have tem but one of these days they will probably be gone. Lat two i got came from different warehouses. Where did you get the leather washer for the cycl. I have been getting leather from harness shop and then making a new ones they work well and dont even need the expansion spring.

I got a new rubber washer from the dealer when I put it all together, I'm not sure how rubber can do this, but it swelled up and is no longer the right diameter to fit in the space. I put the old one back in. I guess I'll have to try to fit the new one again or get another new one.
As for the cylinder leather, the neighbor I bought the tractor had a new one (probably 20 years old from what his wife said). Dealer packaging in a sealed plastic bag.
