400 series diesel engines

would the block in a 966 be the same as the block in a 1466 (besides the crank, pistons, ect.)? some turbocharged engines have oil cooling jets aimed at the bottom of the pistons to cool them, the 966 being naturally aspirated, would it have the cooling jets to support the turbocharger(going in the 1466 farmstock pulling tractor)

As you said the blocks are the same providing the age is similar. The turbo charged engines use twelve cooling jets and the naturally aspirated engines use six. All the blocks should be drilled for all twelve but the NA engines have six blocked off.

Newer blocks have some changes in the size of the bore for the lifters and later yet provision for roller lifters. The blocks for the 414, 436, and 466 will interchange. You may want to look into getting a newer truck 466 which will have the updates.
