int 2500 tractor

does anyone know anything about an International 2500 tractor, gas. like maybe years, weight etc. it's original yellow and white paint with a snow plow blade on it. not much info online?

It's an industrial tractor, not a farm tractor. I believe it was used as the base for backhoe/loader setups, straight-up industrial loader tractors, road sweepers, roadside mowing... It all depended on what kind of specialized equipment it came with.

Compared to farm tractors, there weren't that many of them to begin with, and because they were used HARD, most of 'em didn't survive so there's not many left. That's why you don't see anything on them on the web.

I am not real sure, but I think the pistons run in the block. (no sleeves).

I'm thinking the 2500 was strickly a backhoe & loader tractor. Sure it's not a 2504? The 4 is for 4 cylinder.

What's the model # on the bell housing?

You can go to caseih.com and put in 2500 and 2504 in the search for parts. Lots of stuff in the archives here for the 2504.

I'll dig out a book and check, but I believe it is a 574 painted yellow. 2500A had Hyd foward/reverse
2500B had forward/revese with torque converter

It is an industrial series similar to the 474 and 574, the 2500 had a C200 in it and the 2400 had a C157. Came either hydrostatic or gear driven. They are early 70's. I have had a couple 2500's and a 2400. Nice little tractors. They all did not come with backhoes. The book says the approximate weight for the bare tractor is 4160 lbs.

hey guy's one more thing, this 2500A international tractor has beefy wide turf tires on it with chains, how would this compare say in comparison to a ford 8n with agri tires on it in the snow?
the international a being much heavier machine at 4700 puonds...

I have a 1966 ih2500 loader backhoe.The backhoe is off for the winter. with tire chains i was pushing 3 foot drifts yesterday without a problem. Like you I have not found much info on this tractor.

i mike, i just picked up a ih 2500 series B industrial tractor a few weeks ago. this one has the hydrostat with the diesel engine and a Roland loader on it. i'm in the same boat you're in. i don't know much about it either. the air cleaner was missing and i believe the "end cap of the air cleaner." some one told me that there was never an end cap on the air cleaner assembly. if some one could help me with this that would be great. i believe they were built between 1970 thru 1978. i took mine over the scales it weighed 8350 lbs. i will be using it for lifting logs. i heat with wood up here in michigan.
