IH 986 fuel question

Was wondering how and if I can turn the fuel setting up on ih 986 tractor. All help is appreciated.

I think its not to hard to turn up the pump on a 986 but its a good idea to do it on a dyno so you know how much to turn it up. You dont want to over do it.

Take the cover off the pump and turn the screw in. Like the other guy said, it is better to use a dyno. but turn it in 1/4-1/2 turn and that should be enough. How much power do you want?

Screw needs to turn OUT to put more fuel to the engine.

Each complete round will turn the HP up anywhere from 10 to 25 HP.

The screw we are talking about has a jam nut on it with little tabs that have to be bent out of the way to allow adjustment. The end of the screw is slotted for a screw driver.

Unless there is an aftermarket turbo......you aren't going to add that much power. You can make her smoke, but with out the air to burn the extra fuel...that's all ya got.smoke.
