I replaced my hitch/main hyd pump on my 560, now the loader works but the pump stays at high pressure, and labors the engine. I have replaced the pressure reg. valve with another used one and the pump is still at high pressure. What's up?

Is it plumbed thru the tractor remotes? Any chance the 1- 2-way selector on a valve is out of whack? Beyond that, I'm out of ideas.

Yes the loader is hooked right to the tractor remote valves. The fast hitch works fine. The loader up,down, and bucket dump back and forth seem to work fine. But the one remote does seem to maybe have more resistance(oil pressure) against the lever when the tractor is running. What should I look for? Thanks for the info Chris.

The selectors are by your feet at the base of the steering wheel. Just take the proper sized wrench and work them back and forth and see if the hyds unload. There only 2 positions. I've had the little roll pins that form the detents break off. When that happens, the selectors may wiggle themselves around and get stuck in between positions.

I turned the knobs stop to stop. They turn very easy just by hand (whitch I thought was odd compared to other 560's) with the tractor running and there was no change. Do both knobs need to be all the way right or all the way left at the same time? Thanks for the info

I will agree on checking the double single action setting on your valves. Broken or bent pins are a common problem, and if turned too far they will bend the guide inside valve and then even setting them where the pin lines up they can still be wrong. As far as the one valve seeming to be under pressure to move, well, here is what happens inside the valve. The little unlatching piston that is supposed to put your valve back to neutral at end of cyl stroke, has a slot in the end of it so the oil coming through the small hole in piston can bleed off, that slot gets peened shut over time and seals off so you are working against the unlatching piston trying to center the valve. Back to system staying on demand, If all fails, you may have to drill out the orfice screen, (or clean it out) in that reglulator valve assembly you replaced. As the lands on the aux valves wear (and expecially on the teledepth valve for hitch) more oil excapes past them that can get through the screened orfice. Normally though, system will work fine when cold and start staying on demand after it warms up if that is the problem.

Well, you're getting out of my area of expertise. I will say that the system is open center, so assuming the valves are centering properly, the selectors are one way or the other and not stuck in the middle, and the pressure relief is working properly, you have a problem with the pump or passages.

I don't know which way the selectors need to be in your application. You ought to an owners manual for that and also you need to understand what type of loader you have. If everything was working before you swapped pumps and not working afterwards, maybe that's the problem.

Is the power steering working OK? It's a separate pump using the same hydraulic reservior and filter.

Valves are actually closed center but the flow is directed to dump through the regulator,(not relief )valve. Operating a valve uncovers a passage that cuts off flow to regulator valve through the orfice screen and therefore regulator ball closes allowing fow to be directed to valves. Relief valve is in same block as regulator valve and provides maximum pressure relief to dump.
