Removing King Pin from Steering Knuckle

On my Super M with an adjustale wide front end, the king pin on the left steering knuckle is pretty well beat up on the top end. Looking the steering knuckle over, it appears that the king pin is pressed into the casting that holds both the king pin and wheel spindle.

Does anyone have any experience removing the king pin and installing a new machined one ?

I would appreciate any information that anyone might have.

Thank You !

on the factory adjustable wide front the king pin is part of the steering knuckle, they dont come apart. from the case ih website it looks like the knuckles are retired and no longer available. if you have a good local machine shop, they should be able to fix you up. my local guy just rebuilt a wide front for an allis b that was all wore out. he machined the shafts down on the knuckles, then pressed new bushings into the ends of the front axle extensions. he also machined the steering arms and bushed them to match the new diameter of the knuckle shafts. ran right about 300 dollars for the whole shebang. the bushings in the axle extensions are replaceable, maybe you can find a good used knuckle and just put new bushings in. give rusty farmall a shout, he may have some goodies laying around for your front end.
