International AI industrial what year is it made?

My neighbor just up and gave me an internatonal AI the other day. Said he was movin out of state and could not take it with him. He knew I like tractors so he thought I'd like to have it. He says it runs and drives but just needs a battery! So anyways I did a bit of research on it and it turns out that it is an industrial A has the dimond axle, foot throttle, no belt pully drive etc. It does not apear to ever have been painted yellow though. Its serial # is
IAA 113250 and the model # is IA. I am more familiar with old case tractors so I'm not sure how to tell the year from this serial # and also because its an industrial model is it rare and worth more then the standard farmalls? Were all industrials painted yellow? Thanks a bunch!

Your tractor is a 1945 International A (IA). It was probably red or orange when new. IHC would paint tractors any color the customer wanted for a small fee, however on the Industral tractors, red or orange were both no cost colors at that time. Any other color was a low cost option. Most tractors sold to highway departments and such at the time were orange. Industral yellow or federal yellow became the common industrial color later in the early 1950's. It is worth about the same as a Farmall A in the same condition.

You are lucky to have someone give you a tractor. And a AI at that. I don't see many around. I have a '49 Super A Industrial and it was always red. You can paint it any color you want and it will be correct. It came in a few different colors. So no one will tell you that you painted your tractor the wrong color. All industrials were not yellow or orange. Paint it the color that you want.Just don't paint it green. lol.
