Getting parts

guy's what and where is the best place to get part for an IH 300 tractor, do international dealers still have parts for these machines and i don't really recall seeing an international tractor dealer lately? or will i have to look to other sources...

If it's a good dealership then they can get you a lot of things. I use the nearest IH dealership almost exclusively. Sam

says INTERNATIONAL on tractor so case/IH is the place to go. depends what your looking for as some parts are getting obsolete.

All their parts are in their computer, connected to the various distribution centers. Saves a lot of yours and the partsman's time if you give them the part number, they put it into the computer, it tells them where the part is. My dealer stocks next to no parts for the old Farmalls, but most of the time I can get 1 or 2 day service. I get mostly seals, gaskets, brake parts, filters, etc. They can also get engine parts, the aftermarket is much cheaper. They will not be able to get chassis parts such as axles, most gears, sheet metal, etc.

Good luck with that at some dealerships. Our "local Case/IH Dealer" can't even look up parts for a 300/350 and older. The 56 series is about where their "support" starts.

Hi A good CaseIH dealer will have a super helpful person behind the counter. I live about 20 miles from an old line IH dealer, who just does repair, but still sells parts. Here in so, MN Dave K

They have alot of parts like gaskets and seals, they have alot of parts available. Caseih.com has a parts database where you can look up all the parts for your tractor, it shows what is still available. for things like seals, napa or your local parts store ussually has better prices.
