Throttle resistance

On the Farmalls WD,MD does the throttle lever have a lot of resistance. It moves freely up to the switch over mechanism. My WD-9 there seems to be a lot of resistance I have the parts book but I can't see any tension adjustment..

Mine had a modest force required and stayed where it was put. 1948MD with 2 levers one at the steering wheel RT side (speed), and one on left side of support (switchover). JimN

Throttle lever friction is set by the “governor friction control”. It’s on the left end of starting mechanism crosshaft, above and to the rear of the injection pump. Sounds like yours is either set too tight or needs a good cleaning.

On the back (engine) side of the friction control housing there’s an adjustment nut. It bears on a spring that sets throttle lever friction.

Incidentally if memory serves (it's been a while since I messed with one...) the friction control must be removed from the engine to access the adjusting nut.

Thanks after looking in the manual I see it now, labled governor control friction spring nut...and yes it is buried in there. I'll keep you posted on my results...
