have a130 want something Bigger

Have been using a 130 to plow snow, work in the woods,do garden work and what ever else comes along for the last few years. Feel like i am beating the poor little thing to death, so am thinking of something a "little" bigger mainly for in the woods. Was wondering what you guys would suggest. An H or M look like they would work???
Thanks Kerry

What do you do in the woods? Skidding logs, etc, is not precisely what the M/H were designed for being row crop tractors and their overall height not to mention that vertical muffler can be a menace with branches. My (very hot) clapper got yanked from my muffler last summer by a branch while just mowing along the woods. Caught me on the neck and branded me good. You might want to look at something a little more low slung...utility maybe. I would want a conventional drawbar if I was dragging stuff and maybe an underside exhaust to avoid catching limbs. Seems like your 130 would be fine for the rest.

I like the H OR M. You would be happy with a 340 utility, small enough for tight areas, and just enough power for hobby work. Jim

If I was you I would probably try looking for either an IH 300/350 utility if you can live with the steering and want to stay with gas power. Or else a B-275, B-414 etc would work well for you. Both of those tractors are reasonably available and not ridiculously expensive around here. Alternatively, you might find something like a Super C and its bretheren will suite your needs. Sam

I would also recommend an IH 300 or 350 Utility. They have wide front ends and short wheelbases, so they're reasonably stable and maneuverable. Most of them have underslung exhaust. Look for one with a (working) torque amplifier if you plan to do a lot of hard low-speed pulling in the woods.

I use my H in the garden and when cutting wood. For backing a trailer into tight spots when loading wood or for quick turns in the garden aint nothing like those narrow fronts.

My vote would be for a Farmall 350. That gives you a tractor that's bigger, has many modern conveniences, and matches the series of what you already have...

If overhead clearance is an issue, a 350 Utility might be a better choice because it sits lower.

Kerry, where are you located? I just put my IH-424 on Photo Ad site. 36 HP Utility tractor.

MY 424 is not pretty (has good sheet metal, needs painting) but has hydraulics rebuilt. Good 3 point hitch. Utility tractor built low but does have muffler that goes up. IH used to have kit to go underslung but I never needed. My tractor is in central NC.

I just rebuilt carb and it starts and runs fine now. Got clogged from sitting too much with all that good gas.
