Super C oill gauge

I would like to replace the oil pressure gauge on my sper c. How is a good way going at it with out breaking the threads offin the housing . Mine you can hardly see the gauge. Thanks

The thread you see between the back of the gauge and the block is part of the gauge. If yours is a goner, you can o at it with about anything. Channel lock or a pipe wrench on the housing will usually do it. If the housing should soomehow twist toiff of the thread, a small pipe wrench directly on the threads will finish getting it out.

The replacement gauge will go on by hand. A judicious measure of pipe dope or other thread sealer (not out at the end -- you don't want that stuff getting into your oil -- on the half or two-thirds of the thread closest to the gauge will be good. Any excess can be wiped off away after you've got it on. One of those little rubber gizmos you use to grip stubborn jar lids can he helpful in winding the new one on so that it's tight and reads right side up.

The ones I have seen have a wrench fitting above the threads. Don't know the wrench size, it should come right out.
