Okay still working on the cub, just put new rings in it this week and rebuilt the carb, also put all new gaskets on it. But It still will not start for me. Got plenty of compression, getting gas, and getting really good spark, any ideas?

Make sure you don't have a vacuum leak at the manifold or the base of the carb. Here is how I suggest you can check it turn the engine over and see if you have gas running out the carb. Then check the #2 or #3 spark plug to see if they are wet. If not you have a vacuum leak . Also if the battery is low on charge that can be a problem if you have a battery ignition. You may be pulling down the amperage with the starter and not have enough voltage to allow the ignition to fire the plugs Steve

is your cam timing right? is your ignition timing 180 degrees out(firing on top of exhaust stroke)? good luck, d. coleman

Remove plugs and then remove the mag cap by turning engine over with your thumb over #1 cycl you can see if the rotor is lined up with the cap when you are on the compression stroke thats the easiest way to make sure your timing is ok. Iys easy to have the rotor off or even 180 out of time.
