1256 wiring diagram

We are putting a new alternator in the 12 and want the AMP light to work the way it should. I have tracked down the light blue wire from the amp light to where it goes into the main harness. Where does it go? I realize it may have had a regulator mounted somwhere, but it appears to be long gone if it had one. I know I could just run a wire from the light to the alternator but I would like to keep it looking neat if possible.
 
Hopefully The Tractor Vet will step in and help you. If anyone knows he will. The problem is that for some reason IH never supplied their dealers and service people with wiring diagrams for the 56 series. At least that is what I was told. Bermuda Ken was going to attempt to have some diagrams made but I don't know if he ever got around to it. Good luck.
 
Yep the 1256 had a voltage reg. and it was located behind the kick panel in the lower dash support . That blue wire went down to the reg plug as they used a push on four wire plug . somewhere along the line someone must have put a internal reg. alt on it and done some barn yard rewiring .
 
We are still working on the 26-56 series diagrams. Also have the hundred (100-200-300-400) and fifty (350-450) series diagrams in the works too.

When they are ready, we will post them to the C&G site for everyone to use for FREE!!!
 
No owners manual. I found the regulator, I just jumped the light blue wire from the light to brown wire to the alternator. Brown wire to Alternator plug done presto. I would never looked there for the regulator!. Thank alot.
