farmall md fuel

i had been running regular diesel in my md and it has been running really rough. I was out of fuel so i put home heating oil in it and it runs so much better any problems with doing this?

To add to what Allen said, "regular" diesel is #2 and thicker than #1. Are you in a colder part of the country? Lots of colder climate areas use #1 fuel in winter for easier flow and less chance to "jel" in small fuel lines.

im in maryland the on road diesel they sell around here is junk i get really bad fuel economy in my pickup. the tractor seems like it runs so much smoother just a little smokey(black smoke) but just a little more than before, but dont miss and sputter like it did before.

Do they still have sulfur in no 1? That might make a difference.

The reason your truck gets such poor milage is bc of the switch to ULSD. All of our trucks have dropped 1-1.5 mpg. It sure does seem better for the environment...We burn 10% more fuel, but at least it has less sulfur!!!
