Super C with bushog

Posting this for my BIL. He is looking at a Super C with fasthitch for about 10 acres that he just bought. Can he find a bushog that will match up to the fasthitch or does he need to look for a belly mower? Bushog would be preferred.

Depending on your location it can be next to impossible they just arent many aroud. You can use a regular hitch type with the wheels used for lifting. The 6ft belley mowers are for lawn care not realy to be used on anything longer than like 6in.You can set them to mow higher than you would do a yard but 6in high for mowing length is about the limit without making some changes on the mower.

Fast hitch to 3 point adapters are availble from this site and others. As to the belly mower, he would have to remove the fast hitch, I believe. Another alternative is the belly mount highway mower, not readily available and may not fit the C as they were usually on A's or Super A's. As Gene says the usual belly mount like is on my Super A are not made for tall weeds.

Your best bet and easiest to find might be a pull type mower with a manual cylinder (rachet) adjustment on the rear wheels.

I've seen a few of the small fast hitch bushhogs (in fact a neighbor has one) for a SC but without exception they are well rusted out as they have set outside, collected water and the decks are in very poor shape and probably not safe to even use. I did see one in the photo ads a couple of years ago that really looked very nice somewhere in Kansas as I recall. If you want to go the pull type route the fast hitch adapter and a 3 point bush hog will probably be your best way to go as someone else posted. I have a Woods 6 foot belly mower under a Farmall 140 and it is a treat to use but I only use it in my extended yard where the grass isn't permitted to grow very tall after making hay there for the rest of the summer. They certainly aren't bush hogs and more like a finish mower but do a wonderful job. I would also suggest a hand level system as well on a small 3 point bush hog as posted earlier in lieu of running the hydraulics as you usually set it up and rarely ever need to make adjustments if cutting grass or weeds. My 2 cents worth, Hal.

I ran across the model number of the 2 point rotary mower for the Super C or model 200 tractors somewhere on this site. The model you would be looking for is 2CK-FTC25 which were produced from 1955 through 1959. Good luck in your hunt if you go that route, Hal.

Thanks for the replies. I will pass it along to him. Looks like a pull type might be the best option.
