Correct transmission oil for SMTAD

The manual says to use SAE 80. I cant find any of that, so can I use 80/90. I am doing a complete oil change, so I want to be sure to use the right thing.

perfect, filler up. gotta remember the manuals are old info, and the oils keep getting better.

The manual is wrong. After a couple years of failure IH learned that it needed a lighter oil for the TA. Use Hytran or an equivelent with the tractors that have a TA, if it doesn't have a TA than use Hytran.

The manual is outdated...not wrong :)

the manual is not wrong. you are supposed to use a gallon of 'torque amplifer fluid' with the eighty weight gear oil, since the ta fluid isn't available use hy-tran. p.s. i have run eighty weight in the super mta that gets a lot of use for years with no ill effects.
