Bull pinion endplay on an H

I pulled the brake housing off my 41 H to replace the oil seal and the bull pinion seems to have quite a bit of endplay, maybe .125 or so? Not sure if this is the norm?

I do not think it is correct. It is a ball bearing supported shaft, (two) and if a bearing is loose on its outer race to bore, or on the shaft, it needs to be repaired, or the seal will do little good.
Radially, there should be less than .0015" axially (estimate) .008" or less. Others may have a spec.

Yeah, I think your right too. I really am not in the mood to pull the wheel and axles and bullgears off but I guess I have no choice.
