Changing a rear tire on a 574

Going to change a rear tire on our 574. It looks like a royal pain to change it on the tractor, with fenders and all. Is it easier to pump the calcium out and take the wheel off the tractor? I have no power tools and am concerned about breaking the bead with it on the tractor. I have a loader on another tractor to do the heavy lifting. Which way is easier?

IMHO, working on the tire is much easier when it's still attached to the tractor. That's the way we've always done it since I was a kid.

I do have some experience working off the tractor, and it's a pain. You can't put the kind of leverage into the job that you need to, when you don't have the mass of the tractor holding the tire in place. Even those big heavy tires like to move around on you if they're not attached to something solid.

Never had any power tools here either.

When we changed the tires on my Super H, we used a 48" farm jack against the drawbar to break the inner bead, then we wrapped a chain around the tire and through the wheel, and broke the outer bead using the same jack. Worked slick as snot.
