carl, If you have problem after wiring
Google John T genarator trouble shooting.
If you do all his test you will get done right.

Just got through re-doing all electrical components on my 48 cub. Rebuilt the generator, new 6V regulator, new magneto, all new wires, new ignition/mag switch, new light switch. Checked the timing and found that the govenor gear and idler gear were out of time. She now starts and runs like a top. I might add all this cost me around $700.00 just in parts; but it's worth it.
